Since setting down roots in Austin in 2004, Jonathan has amassed impressive collaborations, including “Plutonium Farmers,” produced by Steve Albini, and “Young Mothers,” a jazz-rap-grindcore group, both with Norwegian bass phenom Ingebrigt Håker Flaten. Jonathan also lent his talents to the works of Book of Shadows, Ichi Ni San Shi, and Jerry Seinfeld’s Atrophied Sac.
In the midst of a booming career, Jonathan experienced a freak accident which left him with a ruptured hand tendon and very little hope for his future as a professional musician. Despite undergoing two surgeries for the ruptured tendon, Horne was still unable to return to his career and told his band to put a hold on scheduling future gigs.
Despite two unsuccessful surgeries, Jonathan held out hope that his injury could be repaired and landed in the capable hands of Dr. Alton Barron, founder of Musician Treatment Foundation. Although Jonathan was nervous about having surgery for the third time, he felt he had no other option if he wanted to get back to playing guitar. Jonathan’s third surgery was totally free of charge to him thanks to Dr. Barron, who waived his fee, and to MTF which covered the rest. Now he’s back to playing his guitar and upbeat about the future of his career.
